U.S. Conservatives Guide Amy Hess reports on the story of 16-year-old Starchild Abraham Cherrix, who suffers from Hodgkin's lymphoma:
After trying chemotherapy, Abraham and his parents decided they would turn to alternative forms of treatment to deal with his cancer. Abraham started on an all organic diet that included herbal treatments.

Social Services, though, learned that Abraham's parents had gone against the medical advice of Abraham's doctor, accused them of medical neglect and took the family to court to force Abraham to continue chemotherapy treatment.
Under the new consent decree, Social Services has conceded that the family is not guilty of medical neglect, and the family has agreed to provide medical updates to the court every three months until Cherrix is cured or turns 18.
