Human Rights in Iran
Thursday June 22, 2006
Category: International Human Rights
Iranian police have assaulted peaceful women's rights protesters twice within the past six months: once on International Women's Day in March, and more recently on June 12th. After the latter incident, they charged prominent women's rights activists Parvin Ardalan and Noushin Ahmadi Khorasani for violating "national security" standards. Iran has already been in the news in recent months for its nuclear program.
In order to provide a clearer picture of the human rights situation in Iran, I've written a summary page explaining Iran's human rights history. Expect to see more Iran-related content in the coming weeks.
